How it works
From first scan to first league, in four steps.
Zone X runs two progression tracks. Your league shows how fit you are. Your avatar level shows how hard you've worked. Here's how they fit together.
Step 01Create your twin
Scan your face. Meet your twin.
AI turns a quick face scan into your personal avatar. Your height, weight and sex shape its body. It starts out in plain sportswear, and everything else it wears has to be earned.
- Face scan → AI-generated digital twin
- Height, weight and sex shape the body
- Starter kit: plain shirt, shorts, neutral shoes

Step 02Level up from effort
Effort earns XP. Distance doesn't.
Your twin levels up from training quality: time in heart-rate zones, not kilometres. An ultra runner doesn't out-level you just by running further.

Step 03Earn your league
Your heart sets the bar. Not your genes.
The Grit Score measures how fast you run relative to how hard your heart is working. Someone pushing their own limits can out-score someone who's naturally fast but cruising.
- 01
Only verified runs count
At least 20 minutes, with your heart above 65 % of its max.
- 02
Speed vs. heart rate
Grade-adjusted pace divided by the share of your heart-rate reserve you used, scaled to a score from about 20 to 70+.
- 03
Best 3 runs, 30 days
Your daily score averages your best 3 verified runs from the last 30 days. One bad run can't sink you, and one lucky run can't carry you.
Same pace. Different hearts.
Both run 6:00 /km on the same day. A's heart works less hard to hold that pace, so A scores higher.

Questions
Do I have to be fast?+
No. The Grit Score measures your speed relative to your own heart rate, not your raw pace. Beginners climb quickly through Bronze, and most runners end up around Gold.
Can I buy gear for my twin?+
Never. Gear is unlocked by levelling up and by finishing challenges. That's what makes it worth showing off.
Which wearables will work?+
We're building for Whoop, Apple Watch and Garmin first.
What if I slept badly?+
Your twin wakes up Groggy. Zone 5 workouts earn no XP that day, but gentle movement and going to bed early earn XP multipliers. Zone X rewards smart training, not overtraining.
Why can my league drop but my level can't?+
They measure different things. Your league follows your fitness, which really does go up and down. Your level counts the work you've put in, and that never goes away.
Does one great run put me in a higher league?+
No. Your score averages your best 3 verified runs from the last 30 days, so GPS glitches and lucky days even out.
When can I start?+
